The C-130 Hercules plane is a special-duty plane manufactured exclusively for the US Air Force and Coast Guard. The Air Force assigns many roles to the Hercules, including enforcement of laws and treaties, military readiness, and search and rescue operations. For the Coast Guard, it is primarily a rescue aircraft. It is the prime transport for paradropping troops and equipment into hostile areas, with its capability to operate from rough dirt strips. This high-wing aircraft has four engines and can carry 92 passengers and 51,000 pounds of cargo. The C-130 Hercules plane continues to serve the US Coast Guard air fleet until today.
