Kamov Ka-27 1/37
Scale: 1/37 | Wingspan: N/A inches | Length: 12 inches
More popularly known for its NATO reporting name “Helix” the Ka-27 chopper was developed to serve the Soviet, Ukrainian, Russian, and Indian Navies. This workhorse made its first flight in December 1973 and was formally introduced sometime in 1982. Used mainly for anti-submarine warfare and for ferrying, this rotorcraft was produced to replace its predecessor, the Ka-25. Similar to other choppers produced by Kamov, the Helix was outfitted with a co-axial rotor, which eliminated the need for a tail rotor. Still, in active service, the Ka-27 helicopter also serves Vietnam, Korea, and China.
