"The F-107 is a single-seat, fighter-bomber aircraft built in the 1950s. Based on the design of the F-100 Super Sabre, this aircraft prototype has a very distinctive feature that distinguishes it from its precursor. It has an over-the-fuselage air intake, which enables the plane to carry a semi-conformal nuclear weapon in its underbelly. However, the dorsal location of the air intake limits rear visibility and poses a danger to pilots upon eject. On September 10, 1956, the first F-107 took its initial flight and achieved Mach 1.03. The flight was a successful one despite the fact that the parachute did not deploy. On November 3, 1956, the second F-107 flew; it was used for testing conventional and atomic bombs. The last prototype flew on December 10, 1956, and was scrapped later on in the 1960s. Only three aircraft were built.

This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff! "
