F-4 Phantom Blue Angels 1/62
Scale: 1/62 | Wingspan: 7.4 inches | Length: 12 inches
Most people remember the F-4 Phantom supersonic jet interceptor as one of the key fighter aircraft during the Vietnam War, but they were also one of the mainstays of the storied US Navy Blue Angels aerobatics team. With its eye-catching bricks with wings design, speed, easy handling and its stellar combat reputation, the Phantom made an ideal aerial demonstration aircraft, and in 1969 the F-4J Phantom was chosen by the Blue Angels as their primary flyer. Blue Angels variant F-4s were nearly indistinguishable from their combat counterparts, except for the lack of weapons, a customized control stick and the Blue Angels distinctive blue-and-yellow paint scheme. The Phantoms flew with the Blue Angels for 4 years before being replaced in 1974 with the A-4 Skyhawk.
This handcrafted model is painted in the same paint scheme as the original and is painstakingly built from Philippine mahogany by our skilled craftsmen. Perfect as a gift for any aviation enthusiast and history buff!
